Get ready to celebrate National Agriculture Day with a photo competition that puts the spotlight on ACT farmers and the land they care for!

ACT Farmers and Landcare ACT have joined forces to honour the National Farmers’ Federation Ag Day theme: “OUR FARMERS, OUR FUTURE” This year’s theme is about showing Australia the people growing our food and fibre, managing our land, and sustaining our regional communities. 

We’re calling on photographers of all ages and skill levels to capture the essence of agriculture in the ACT. Your photo should reflect the 2026 Ag Day theme and showcase the beauty, strength, and spirit of farming in the ACT region.

Entries

• Free entry: There is no application fee. 

• Entry limit: Each applicant may submit a maximum of three photographs. A separate application form must accompany each entry. 

• Applications under 18: Written permission from a parent or guardian is required. 

• Submission deadline: All photographs must be submitted online via the submission form by Sunday 15th November 2026 at 6:00 pm. 

• Image requirements: File size must be between 1MB and 5MB. Images must be submitted in JPEG format. Images must use the sRGB colour model. 

• All photographs must relate to theme and showcase ACT farming. 

Categories

Entries will be judged in the following age categories: 

• Junior (< 12 years) 

• Young (12 – 18) 

• Open (> 18 years) 

Submission of Entries

All entries must be submitted by 6 pm Sunday 15th November 2026 via the entry form.

Judging and Awards

All entrants will receive a certificate for their entry(s).

A gift voucher as a prize may be awarded to each category’s 1st and 2nd places as determined by the panel of judges.

The decision of the winner and runner up in each category will be made by the judges. Their decisions are final and no negotiations will be entered into.

Ceremony

Join us to celebrate the winners and recognise the contribution of agriculture to our ACT community on National Ag Day!

When: Friday 20 November 2026 at 7:30 – 8:45am

What: Viewing photo exhibition with light breakfast and, then presentations of awards. 

Where: Galilee School off Kambah Pool Road

Who: All entrants and their families are welcome, RSVP required by 16th November via this link.

If entrants are not able to attend this event, please nominate this on the entry form.
