Dear Members and Stakeholders,

We are pleased to share this update following the Board meeting held on 24 November 2025.

The Board noted the successful Annual General Meeting held on 12 November. Directors also formally welcomed our newly appointed Director, Gary Stephenson, to his first Board meeting.

The Board received an extensive briefing on the major ACT Community Waterways Restoration project being delivered in partnership with our catchment group members and Buru Ngunawal. The Board was pleased to note that the project is tracking strongly, with milestones being successfully achieved and, in many areas, exceeded.

Directors further considered a range of matters raised by members at and following the AGM. These contributions will help inform Landcare ACT’s strategic planning process, which will commence in early 2026.

The Board is well progressed in filling two casual vacancies and looks forward to having a full board complement early in the new year.

In other governance matters, the Board has appointed the CEO as Landcare ACT’s Nominated Representative to attend the National Landcare Network AGM.
The Chair and CEO recently met with Ms Tara Cheyne, Minister for City and Government Services, to formally introduce Ms Buckle as the new Chair of Landcare ACT.

Finally, the Board noted that Landcare ACT, together with the ACT Government, will co-host an end-of-year Volunteers Appreciation Gathering on 3 December to say thank you to the thousands of diverse volunteers for everything they do to care for our environment.

The Board thanks all members, partners, and volunteers for their continued support and engagement.
