Landcare ACT and the ACT Rural Landholders Association of Farmers (ACT Farmers), with support from the ACT Government, are proud to host a vibrant celebration of National Agriculture Day, Friday 21st November 2025 at Tharwa Hall.
This year, the National Farmers Federation theme Stand with the Land, comes to life in the ACT through events that spotlight the passion, innovation, and leadership of our agricultural community. The Breakfast event features:
- The launch of our Young Farmers Network Advisory Panel: Introducing a new generation of voices shaping the future of farming in the ACT. This Panel of young volunteers are actively involved in agriculture and or affiliated with family farms.
- ‘Grow You Good Thing’ Photo Competition: Celebrating the life and landscapes of our farmers through photography. The awarding of category place getters from the decisions of our judging Panel led by award winning photographer Katherine Griffiths.
- Women in Agriculture ‘leadership lecture’: A gathering of our women on the land, to hear one of our region’s most outstanding rural leaders, Su McCluskey, currently Interim CEO of the National Farmers’ Federation.
This celebration brings together farmers, community leaders, policymakers and environmental advocates to honour the contribution of agriculture to the ACT’s landscape, sustainability, and culture. Other speakers include:
- MLA’s Taimus Werner-Gibbings, ACT Labor & Laura Nuttall, ACT Greens
