Landcare ACT Welcomes Ellen Buckle as New Board Chair

Landcare ACT is pleased to announce the appointment of Ellen Buckle as the new Chair of its Board.

Ellen brings extensive leadership experience and a strong governance background to the role. Her career spans senior positions across Australia’s not-for-profit and agricultural sectors, including the Australian Veterinary Association, Agrifutures, and her current role as CEO of the Stock Feed Manufacturers’ Council of Australia.

A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course, Ellen is recognised for her independent judgement, political acuity, and commitment to rigorous governance. Her collaborative leadership style builds trusted relationships with CEOs, board members, and stakeholders, strengthening organisational impact and cohesion.

“I’m passionate about supporting Landcare ACT’s mission and ensuring strong strategic oversight as we continue to grow our impact,” Ellen said. “Landcare’s values of stewardship, community, and sustainability deeply resonate with my own.”

Ellen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science, an MBA, and is a Graduate of the AICD. Her dedication to community and sustainability aligns closely with Landcare ACT’s vision, and her appointment marks an exciting chapter in the organisation’s continued growth.

Landcare ACT looks forward to working with Ellen as she leads the Board in advancing its mission and supporting the Landcare community across the ACT.
