LandcareACT is peak body for landcare in the ACT region to help support and promote the over 60 community groups who help look after urban parklands, countryside, nature reserves and waterways.
The foundation members of LACT are the ACT region’s three catchment groups, Ginninderra, Molonglo and Southern ACT, the Rural Landholders Association and the Buru-Ngunawal Aboriginal Corporation.
LandcareACT is a company limited by guarantee with a skill-based Board of Directors, supported by member representatives on the Members Council. LandcareACT is part of the National Landcare Network along with the landcare peak bodies from each State and Territory. The role of LACT is established in the Constitution and our activities are guided by a guided by a Strategic Plan.
LandcareACT was initiated by the ACT’s three catchment groups who provide support for many landcare groups across the ACT and in surrounding NSW. It will be inclusive of rural landholders in the region and the local Aboriginal community.
