Strengthening community Landcare for healthy ACT landscapes

Landcare ACT, the peak body for land stewardship groups in the ACT, is the voice for about 1500 active landcarers, who work together in more than 60 community groups. Landcare ACT is calling for a new integrated and holistic, landscape-scale approach to land stewardship, to promote effective action, a resilient community and healthy landscapes. Landcare ACT seeks action on the following 7 point agenda.

Landcare Australia Support Grants 2016

The Landcare Australia Support Grants 2016 are intended to help Landcare groups fund projects and activities which will improve the health of the environment in their local area. Groups are invited to apply for a grant of up to $1,000 (GST exclusive) to support such projects and activities. A total of $50,000 is available on a competitive basis.

Canberra Nature Map

Canberra Nature Map is a repository for park care groups, volunteers and members of the public to report sightings of rare and endangered plant species and any of the many treasures that Canberra’s nature parks are home to.

Launch of LandcareACT

LandcareACT, a new independent “peak” body for community landcare in the ACT, was launched on Saturday 13th June, at a community information and planting day. The launch will mark the beginning of this hardworking volunteer community seeking to promote and sustain its landcare activities by working together.
